(LONDON) -- A new James Bond novel, featuring a slightly older 007, will be released in September, the estate of Ian Fleming has announced.
The BBC reports author William Boyd will write the story, which, according to Boyd, will be set in the 1960s and mark a return to “classic Bond."
Boyd is the third author in recent years to be invited to pen an official Bond book. He follows in the footsteps of Jeffery Deaver, who wrote Carte Blanche in 2011 and Sebastian Faulks, whose Devil May Care was released in 2008.
Boyd’s previous work includes 1981’s A Good Man in Africa and Restless, published in 2006.
The release of a new Bond book in 2013 coincides with the 60th anniversary of Fleming’s Casino Royale, the first novel in the spy series.
